Overview: For Wellness The Good Stuff Review

If you’ve read my guides to collagen in coffee and protein coffee, you’ll know that I’m more than a little suspicious of coffee supplements. With that said, I’m very aware that coffee supplements are all the rage right now, and you guys are probably curious to know more. Besides, I’ve long espoused the health benefits of coffee and I’m perfectly willing to be converted if I find a supplement that works.

So, I decided to order a pouch of For Wellness The Good Stuff to test out. I went for the cinnamon flavored “Performance” option, which set me back $34.99. That’s a little over a dollar per serving, seeing as there are 30 servings in the pouch.

So far, so much more expensive than regular coffee creamer. Then again, regular creamer doesn’t come with the supposed benefits of The Good Stuff, which include increased energy, better focus and firmer skin.

I’ll discuss my experiences using For Wellness The Good Stuff a little later. For now, though, I’ll give you a little spoiler: I actually really enjoy the way it tastes. With that said, I absolutely love cinnamon, so I wasn’t surprised. As for how drinking The Good Stuff made me feel, you’ll have to keep reading to find out!

What Is the Wellness Company?

For Wellness was founded in 2020 by pro golfer Phil Mickelson and performance coach Dave Philips. Apparently, Mickelson was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2010 and went on a mission to become healthier.

Philips turned him on to the idea of coffee for health, and together they decided to take things further by developing coffee supplements. The end result is a line of health products that will supposedly change your life.

As well as The Good Stuff supplements, the company sells actual coffee beans and superfood bites with coffee as part of the ingredients list. They also sell a couple of different types of gummies, neither of which has anything to do with coffee.

Coffee for Wellness Products

As I just mentioned, For Wellness has branched out from its original powder supplement idea, adding quite a few products to its lineup. Let’s take a quick look at what’s on offer.

As I already mentioned, the “Performance” version of The Good Stuff is flavored with cinnamon, which not only tastes good but has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Meanwhile, the “Focus” blend adds chocamine, a cocoa-based product that supposedly improves energy levels and cognitive function.

I really can’t say much about the company’s actual coffee, seeing as there isn’t much information available. However, I do know that it’s 100% Arabica and certified organic. Plus, you can order either a medium or dark coffee roast profile.

Boasting a huge ingredient list that includes honey, monk fruit, cacao, coffee and lion’s mane mushroom, the Superfood Bites are reportedly pretty good. And of course, they’re supposedly good for improving energy and focus.

Finally, we have the gummies. To be honest, I’m more than a little skeptical about this addition to the For Wellness product list. I mean, these have nothing to do with coffee, which is supposedly the foundation of the company’s strategy. What’s more, you’ll pay over $20 for a bag of 30 gummies. Personally, I’ll stick with my Haribo Goldbears and I won’t feel guilty in the least!

The Good Stuff Ingredients

For Wellness The Good Stuff Ingredients

At this point, you’re probably wondering what goes into The Good Stuff to make it so special. I mean, this product ain’t cheap, so it had better have some primo ingredients, right? Well, as you’d imagine, For Wellness is very up-front about what makes up The Good Stuff. I mean, they really believe that it’ll make a difference to how you feel! Here’s what’s in the “Performance” blend that I bought:

  • Hydrolyzed bovine collagen – promotes joint, skin and connective tissue health.

  • L-Theanine – helps with alertness and cognitive function. Also supposedly combats caffeine jitters.

  • MCT creamer – derived from coconut oil, this healthy fat supposedly boosts stamina, improves focus and reduces body fat.

  • Ceylon cinnamon – long known as a healthy supplement with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

  • Himalayan pink salt – helps reduce dehydration and adds balance and flavor to coffee.

  • Silicone dioxide and mixed tocopherols – to prevent clumping and maintain freshness.

As you can see, this is no ordinary coffee supplement. Rather, it’s trying to be many supplements in one. For starters, your skin, muscles and joints will benefit from a good dose of collagen. What’s more, you’ll have energy in spades, thanks to the L-Theanine and MCT creamer. Oh, and you’ll be smarter and able to focus like a boss.

Well, that’s what For Wellness would have you believe, anyway.

For Wellness The Good Stuff Review: My Experience

You already know that I enjoyed the taste of The Good Stuff, but I’ll say that I was surprised by how much I liked it. Seriously, the first time I added a scoop of powder to my morning coffee I gulped it down way too fast.

The cinnamon adds a lovely aromatic flavor, and the MCT creamer is just rich enough to be noticeable. With all that said, learning how to choose the best coffee to use with The Good Stuff took a couple of days.

I tried a variety of different coffee beans and brewing methods, and found that light roast single origin coffee worked best when I was using a drip coffee maker. On the other hand, the best espresso beans to use with The Good Stuff have a medium-dark roast profile.

Whether I mixed it into an americano or pour-over, The Good Stuff was subtle enough that it accentuated the coffee flavor rather than overwhelm it. Still, I did find that it took time to thoroughly mix the powder into my coffee. Plus, I learned the hard way that adding a full scoop of The Good Stuff to less than 8 ounces (237 milliliters) of coffee results in a muddy, gritty cup.

I know you’re all dying to know whether I felt smarter, more energized or healthier after drinking The Good Stuff for a few days. And the answer is that it’s really hard to tell. I will say that I felt really good after my first cup, but that could just be the placebo effect in action. Then again, I certainly felt fewer caffeine jitters than I would have expected – especially seeing as I drank that first coffee really quickly.

Ultimately, I’d say you’ll need to use this supplement constantly for months to know whether it really works.

After a week of adding a powder supplement to my coffee each morning, I’ll say that I really enjoyed my For Wellness The Good Stuff review.

I wasn’t prepared to like this product as much as I did, and I’ll probably keep using it until it’s gone. However, I don’t think I can afford to keep buying The Good Stuff, so I guess I’ll never know how it performs in the long term.

At the end of the day, For Wellness The Good Stuff is a tasty treat made up of really healthy ingredients. It’s certainly not going to do you any harm, so if you can afford it and it makes you happy, I fully recommend it.
