While you guys know I always prefer to use a manual steam wand, I know that not everyone has a home espresso machine. With that in mind, I’ll try to be as objective as possible during this review.
You’ll be happy to hear that I bought the Maestri House Milk Frother to test out for you. A little later I’ll let you know what I did and didn’t like about the thing.

Maestri House Milk Frother Design and Features
Before going any further I should point out that I spent $N/A on the Maestri House frother. While that’s far from cheap, I’ll say that the capacity, build-quality and sleek design are all very much up to snuff.
For starters, unlike most milk frothers this is a detachable model, meaning there’s a large jug up top which lifts away from the main body of the device. What’s more, the Maestri House frother is quite large and feels solid and durable.
Another standout feature is the large touch control panel, which makes it easy to navigate all the frother’s settings. Speaking of, you can choose from three temperature settings and six hot and cold froth settings, making the Maestri House Milk Frother extremely versatile.
My only complaint here is that the device shuts itself off only a few seconds after you’ve set the temperature. So, I’d recommend getting all your ducks in a row before using the thing!
The Maestri House Milk Frother comes with a neat multi-purpose whisk that attaches magnetically to the bottom of the stainless steel pitcher. There are clearly marked fill lines inside, and the pitcher rests on a heating surface that uses magnets to spin the whisk.
Overall, it’s a really simple and effective system with very few small parts to worry about.
During my testing I was impressed by the amount of stainless steel in evidence, although the pitcher lid is plastic. Plus, you have to remove the lid to pour milk foam, and getting it off the hot pitcher is kind of tricky. Still, that’s a small niggle rather than a dealbreaker.
Speaking of deal breakers, this milk frother’s size may deter those with small kitchens. Seriously, this is a big brute of a thing and requires plenty of counter space.
Maestri House Milk Frother in Use
While the Maestri House Milk Frother is easy to set up and use, I had to refer to the user manual a couple of times to make sure I was pressing the right buttons. Plus, you have to configure the whisk in specific ways, depending on how you want to steam milk.
I always recommend cleaning new coffee gear before using it, and that goes double for the Maestri House pitcher. Seriously, it smelled really bad and I had to spend quite a while scrubbing it.
Still, once that was done, it wasn’t long before I was drinking a delicious cappuccino. To be more precise, the Maestri House Milk Frother created pillowy frothed milk at 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius) in around two minutes.
I used the frother in conjunction with the SMEG Coffee Machine, which has no milk system. In my experience, the best way to go about making a coffee drink is to let the Maestri House do its thing then prepare an espresso. That said, I had to constantly swirl the pitcher to keep the froth from separating.
I have to say the Maestri House frother creates pretty impressive milk foam, although it’s either a little too thin or much too thick for my taste. However, I ran into major issues when it came to pouring.
Turns out, the pitcher has a design flaw wherein it’s very hard to successfully pour a homogenous blend of milk and foam. More often than not, I ended up with milk then a big dollop of foam on top. I guess I could have used a spoon, but as a former pro barista, my training forbids me from employing such amateur moves!
Cleaning
Cleaning the Maestri House Milk Frother is a piece of cake, especially seeing as the milk jug and lid are both dishwasher safe. I found that rinsing the pitcher and whisk after each use was all it took, although I did have to scrub some milk froth residue from the bottom here and there.
While operating this milk frother is a fairly streamlined affair, I felt like I needed to remove the whisk before pouring. I guess I just didn’t trust the magnets enough! Fortunately, the Maestri House frother comes with a cute little pair of tongs for just that purpose. Also, I made sure I had a damp cloth on hand, but I could see it getting rather messy.

You will have gathered from my Maestri House Milk Frother review that this thing won’t help you win any latte art prizes. However, if you’re in the market for a powerful and versatile standalone frother, the Maestri House is worth considering.
Sure, it’s rather pricey, but it stands head-and-shoulders above the competition in my opinion. Whether you want to use cow juice or non-dairy milk, the Maestri House frother will deliver consistent results every time. Oh, and it’s quiet as a mouse in operation, too!
There are a few things I’d change about this model, but overall I was very impressed during my testing. The Maestri House Milk Frother doesn’t get full marks, but it came pretty close!
What’s your experience using this powerful milk frother? Any tips or suggestions you’d like to share? Please feel free to leave a comment!
